Note: From The Davenport Daily Gazette From The Davenport Daily Gazette A telegram was received in this city yesterday morning giving the sad intelligence of the death of E.J. Close, a brother of Mrs. L.F. Parker, at Eureka Springs, Col. He died thursday, of Bright's disease, after years of suffering. Years ago Mr. Close lived in this city and was with the hardware firm of T. Close & Co. From here he went to Mt. Pleasant and afterwards to Leon, Iowa, where he has ever since been one of the leading merchants. He was a thorough business man and a Christian Gentleman. A wife and son and several brothers and sisters mourn his death. |
