Note: This is the last will and testament of me William Peacock of Muker in Swaledale in the Parish of Grinton and County of York, Yeoman, First, I order all my just debts, & funeral, and testamentary expences to be paid and discharged by my Executor hereinafter named. I give and devise to my son Christopher Peacock, his heirs and assigns for ever. All that my Copyhold Estate situate situate and being at or within the Manor of Muker in Swaledale aforesaid, consisting of two closes called Great Foxthwaite and Little Foxthwaite and Intack and Allotment thereunto belonging containing by estimation seven acres, or thereabouts and three closes called Great Foxthwaite, middle Foxthwaite and Foxthwaite intack and two alotments - thereunto belonging containing together Eleven acres, or thereabouts, And also two messuages or Dwellinghouses and an allotment at or near Thwaite, containing by estimation One acre or thereabouts And all other my Copyhold Messuages, Lands, Tenements - Hereditaments, and Real Estate whatsoever situate and being in the Manor of Muker aforesaid, or elsewhere in the said Parish of Grinton.And I do hereby charge and make chargeable my said Copyhold and Real Estate as hereinbefore devised to my son Christopher Peacock with the payment thereout of the several legacies hereinafter given and bequeathed that is to say, I give and bequeath to the three children of my late son Cooper Peacock; namely William Peacock, James Peacock and Jane Pedley the sum of Five pounds each; To my son Ralph Peaock the Sum of Thirty punds To my Son David Peacock the Sum of Thirty pounds To my daughter Alice Scott the sum of Thirty five pounds and to my daughter Nanny Kilburn the sum of thirty five pounds, to be paid to them repectively, or their respective issue, as hereinafter mentioned by my said Son Christopher Peaock at the end of Twelve calendar months next after my decease. And I express, order and direct that the lawful issue of each of my said sons and daughters and grandchildren, who shall happen to die before the legacy or sum of money hereinafter bequeathed to him or her shall become payable to or legally vested in him or her, shall together and per [stripes] have and be entitled (and if more than one share and share alike) to the Legacy hereinafter given and bequeathed to his her or their deceased parent. I give and bequeath all my personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever, unto my said son Christopher Peacock whom I hereby appoint sole Executor of this my will.
