Joined the 12th Mountain Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery during the first World War as a gunner. Service number: 162445 Enlisted at Richmond, as it appears he was working at Browson Bank at the time. His battalion was sent to fight in Palestine where he contracted Malaria and died 14/06/1918. Buried in Gaza War Cemetery which is till in the war zone. Grave reference: XXXII. D. 6. |
