Note on source	The diary of John Allan Harker (1909). Scans of the diary kept by John Alan Harker (1909) concerning the death of his grandfather James Close (1843). It notes the death on Friday evening at about 8 pm, his going on the Sunday to the local (Carnforth) joiners / undertakers, called Riggs, to arrange the coffin and its delivery to the house on the Monday, and mentions the funeral at Aysgarth on the Wednesday. The diary is in pencil, so it is not as clear as it might be. Many thanks to Stephan Harker for the scans.
